Kung Pao Chicken and Why Pachelbel’s Canon in D Sucks
Tonight I’m having one of my favorite American-Chinese meals: Panda Express’s double order of Kung Pao Chicken with half fried rice and half steamed rice. I know it’s a mundane blog cliche to talk about what you eat, but whatever. I get this a lot. So what’s my (not so) nutritional intake for this meal?
| Calories | Fat (g) | Saturated fat (g) | Trans fat (g) | Cholesterol (mg) | Sodium(mg) | Carbs (g) | Dietary Fiber (g) | Protein (g) | |
| Kung Pao Chicken x 2 | 480 | 30 | 6 | 0 | 130 | 1080 | 24 | 10 | 32 |
| Fried Rice x 0.5 | 225 | 7 | 1.5 | 0 | 52.5 | 355 | 33.5 | 3 | 6.5 |
| Steamed Rice x 0.5 | 190 | 1.25 | .25 | 0 | 0 | 15 | 40.5 | 2 | 4.5 |
| Total | 895 (45%) | 38.25 (59%) | 7.75 (39%) | 0 | 182.5 (61%) | 1450 (60%) | 98 (33%) | 15 (60%) | 43 |
Hmmm… so not so good in the fat, cholesterol, and sodium departments. Good thing I had a Subway sandwich for lunch (I think).
Ted sent me this interesting link about a comedian‘s rant on Pachelbel’s Canon in D. It’s funny and cute.
Favorite new toy: Villager purse I got from Kohl’s for ~$20. My wallet burst from my accumulation of giftcards, and my purse was dying (strap kept snapping off, clip fraying). I got some random wallet from Target, which was okay… still bursting with junk in it. I really like my new purse though. It’s got a lot more space; I think I might actually be able to get my cellphone before it goes to voicemail. It’s also got all these neat compartments (there’s this neat card slot in the front pocket that’s perfect for my work badge). Yeah, I really like my purse.
New thing I learned today: How to stick Youtube videos in my blog :)
