I feel like milking a cow.
BLAH, I left my DS at Kelvin’s place, so I can’t play Harvest Moon DS. Autumn just started, and I need to plant new crops! I’ve almost broken enough rocks to build a chicken coop. I’d use lumber, but last time I built a silo out of lumber, a major storm blew down my silo. Can’t take chances with chickens. Damn it, I want to play Harvest Moon.
For now, I guess I’ll just settle with messing around with my blog. I signed up to be an affiliate for several sites, including Amazon, Play-Asia, and Threadless. If you happen to be buying stuff at one of these places and want to help me out, use my links. Likewise, if you hate the idea of giving me store credit, make sure to not use my links whenever I post to these places, since I’m gonna try to remember to add affiliate links whenever I can. Some of these affiliate policies are kind of silly. Like Play-Asia says your “friends” using your links is a violation of their commission policy. They’ve got to be kidding, right? I get excluding yourself and family who lives with you (which is what other policies state), but the Play-Asia one is kinda paranoid. Come to think of it, I’m not sure if talking about affiliate programs in this manner constitutes a violation of their policy. Whatever. (If you guys have affiliate links too… *wink wink*)
I also saw that Xanga sites have these neat-o Snap Preview thingies, so I wanted them too. You can turn them off and on in the sidebar. If all these features are too excessive or significantly slow down stuff, just let me know. If anyone noticed, I also increased the font size a little so old people like Bobby can read my blog better. I could see the font increase on my home computer, but not really at work. I’ll probably make it bigger later… I know I definitely need to make the sidebar and page tab fonts larger. The designer for this theme must of had really good vision or a really low-res monitor.
I just spent ~$70 in t-shirts the last couple days. I made my first Threadless order (which is why I’m part of their “street team” now) a couple days ago when they had their Spring $10 shirt sale. I got the Pillow Fight one in unisex small and the f(x)=sheep(x) m one in girlie medium. I really wanted the Communist Party one, but they ran out. Which is fine, because it’s not a non-offensive shirt I can wear to work anyways (and I’m trying to find more shirts that are wearable for work).
My favorite TV recap site, Television Without Pity, just had their Now or Never Leftovers sale. Not really a sale, because nothing is cheap. TWoP has this stupid gimmick where they come out with limited edition shirts, available for one month, and then never sell them again… hence the name “Now Or Never”. I got my Swedgin’ shirt (that nobody except Rodney seems to get) from TWoP. The exception to this “Now or Never” gimmick is this leftover sale, which is exactly how it sounds. There was this House shirt I really wanted from last year, and I was hoping they’d have it for their leftovers sale. So I refreshed this page ALL DAY during work and after work, with the store page still showing empty. It takes me reading Chris’s blog to find out the sale has finally started. I dunno if I just didn’t refresh recently or there was something up with the caching, but I was a little irked I had to find out this way after waiting all day for the store to have stock. Anyway, I was sent in a mini-panic, but I found my shirt in my size and ordered it. So I ordered an EKG/House shirt (which sadly doesn’t come with a Cottages button like the bag… which immediately sold out) in unisex small and a Discount Meats shirt in girlie small. (I’m currently experimenting with the “girlie” sizes from Threadless and TWoP. I’ve had varying results with girlie fits, so hopefully at least one of them will fit okay.) I like this bear one, but I don’t watch the Colbert Report often to feel adequate for wearing this. This stapler in jello one only has girlie sizes. And the Project Runway and ANTM ones are too girly for me.
So those are my online shopping adventures. Not much else happened this weekend after watching 300… just watched TV. We borrowed all three seasons of Arrested Development from Andrew, so now I finally get to see “the greatest television show ever”. Hopefully, I’ll finally get more of Mike and Bobby’s secret AD code language. I’m only up to episode 8 of the first season at the moment, but at least I know what a cornball is now.
I started watching season 2 of Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, another fashion/model show less retarded than America’s Next Top Model. There was some great drama on the last couple episodes. *Not like anybody watches this show, but just in case, spoilers ahead.* She recently acquired J.P. Calderon, a former Survivor contestant, as a model in her agency. He’s totally hot and has a really, really ripped body. Well, the editor of Instinct magazine (nation’s largest gay men’s magazine) wanted him to be on the cover. The only problem is that only gay men can be on the cover. So… awesome opportunity to be on the cover of a well-published magazine, BUT you have to gay. Janice, as his agent, has to present this opportunity regardless of whether or not he actually his gay, because what if he is? So she has to do the incredibly uncomfortable task of asking if he wants to do this. If he says yes, well, he’s gay and he outed himself. If he says no, who knows what he is. Episode 3 ends with a cliffhanger him getting uncomfortable and looking unhappy, but clearly seriously pondering the opportunity to be on the cover of a nationwide magazine. Episode 4 begins with his answer. I totally expect a shutdown, but he ends up accepting. And then he breaks down and talks about how he doesn’t want to hide it anymore. He’s gay! (I TOTALLY didn’t expect that… I was sure he was straight.) And he just outed himself on a reality show with Janice Dickinson, and he’s going to out himself on a national magazine cover. I actually find all this really incredible, and I have so much respect for him to come to terms with his homosexuality. You’d think in the fashion industry, it’d be easier accept something like this. But him and the other male models are very… manly, so I can see how he’s worried about how his peers would perceive him. Really great episode(s). How the heck did Instinct people know to take a chance with him? Is there really such thing as a Gay-DAR?
New thing I learned today: The standard deduction for someone like me is $5150 this year.
