Generic post title.
I’m kinda tired right now, having stayed up late and waking up relatively early. Kelvin and I were at Ravi’s place last night hanging out, and Kelvin didn’t tell me until 1AM that he had a group meeting in downtown at 10 AM. Oy. Now I’m stuck at Kelvin’s place, so here I am.
Chris was back for a day yesterday. It was a small break between his flight from Boston to his trip with family to Taiwan. Kelvin and I had dinner with him, Ravi, Gordon, and Amanda (another classmate I haven’t seen since high school) at Pasta Pomodoro in Sunnyvale. My linguine came out late, something about they lost all my clams and had to redo the dish. We suspected the huge inferno coming from a pan in the kitchen a few minutes earlier (that was so bright and long it caught the attention of the entire restaurant) had something to do with my missing clams, especially since the sauce has white wine. It was decent linguine, and the clams were tasty. The tiramisu was also pretty fluffy and yummy. My opinion of Pasta Pomodoro (the one by my work SUCKS) has improved slightly.
Afterwards, we went to Ravi’s place to hang out, and Anna joined us there, too. There were shots, Guitar Hero, Halo, and other randomness going on. Ravi has Guitar Hero II, and I have Guitar Hero I, so I lent him the game and my guitar for 2-player gameplay. I only played the game a couple times before (wasn’t really my thing), and I still totally suck at it. Even tho I don’t like it that much, I kind of want to play it just so I can suck a little less. I think the game would be much better if each song wasn’t like 5 minutes long. It kinda kills the energy, and your fingers get fatigued. It’s also not that interesting to watch, so after several rounds of Guitar Hero, I insisted we play Halo… which I discovered I still suck at.
I was kinda anti-social last night, which was really stupid because these people are my friends. Even Kelvin was more social than me. I blame my tiredness (I was getting tired after dinner) and my inability to consume alcohol, the universal social lubricant. For some reason, I can’t get over the taste. Kelvin says I think too much about, which is probably true. Gordon mixed him some drink with Kahlua and milk that tasted okay, but I thought it was maybe still strong. So I opted for a Coke with Malibu. It started off okay, tasted like a coconutty Coke, but gradually became more nasty and bitter. I had to mix in more Coke to finish it off. I really wish I was less of a wuss with alcohol, but oh well. I’m still curious to see what happens when you mix alcohol with Mario Party (I hear simultaneous groaning from Kelvin, Chris, and Ravi). Anyways, I think I either need to stop being the boringest person on Earth or go to less social gatherings as a party-pooper. It was really good to see Chris, but it bummed me out to remember that he’s not here most of the time.
New thing I learned today: “Trogdor” is a song on Guitar Hero II.

Aww… that’s sweet. Don’t think that you’re a wuss when it comes to alcohol just because you don’t like the taste. At least you still try to drink. Alcohol with Mario Party (there were TOTALLY groans on my end when I read that, btw) will probably result in a broken controller. I imagine pushing the A button as much as possible in a 30 second window, followed by the obligatory “GODDAMNIT!!!” slam of the controller to the ground, will probably be incredibly violent and aggressive after alcohol. It was good to see you again too, Judy!! (And you’re not the boringest person in the world. At least your blog posts are amusing. =))
Oh, and Gordon made white russians. I suspect it’s meant to be an allusion to Big Lebowski.
