Games I beat in 2008
My definition of “beat” is I got to a primary ending in the game. And this list is based off my sucky memory and my blog entries.
1. Professor Layton & the Curious Village (DS)
2. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (DS)
3. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GameCube)
4. Call of Duty 4 (360)
5. Call of Duty 2 (360)
6. Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)
7. Patapon (PSP)
8. Braid (360)
9. Castle Crashers (360)
10. LocoRoco (PSP)
11. Chrono Trigger (DS)
12. Left 4 Dead (360) – This doesn’t really have a single player mode or story mode, but I’m saying I beat it because I went through every campaign at least once.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t quite get Rock Band 2 and Fallout 3 by New Year’s Eve, but I got to the end for both of them the last couple days. I’m not sure if I really beat Rock band 2; I played the Rolling Stone setlist and it started rolling credits. I still haven’t played every venue or set. And for Fallout 3… dude, what a supremely LAME ending. *minor spoilers* 1) For such an in-depth game with so many options in paths and solutions, the end game “choices” are remarkably limited and dumb, and the ending is so freaking cliche (especially if you’re “good”). 2) Seriously, a freaking slideshow! You couldn’t even give us a movie or video after clocking like 45+ hours on this damn game? With all the crap you did in the Wasteland, only two things affect your ending: your karma level and what you do at the very end of the game. In case you can’t tell, I’m very disappointed in the ending, especially since the first Fallout probably had my favorite game ending of all time. Oh well, all the stuff before the ending is still pretty good… I’m probably going to find myself wandering the Wastelands for a couple weeks, but at least I finished the game before work started back up. It would have been a disaster otherwise.
Anyway, not awesome in game productivity, but not bad considering time spent for the whole getting married and going on a honeymoon business. I’m not really looking forward to any game this year (except Starcraft 2… if that ever comes out), so after my recent gaming binge, I’m not sure what I’m going to do this year. I’m sure I’ll figure out something.
New thing I learned today: The songs played on Galaxy News Radio in Fallout 3 are actual licensed songs from 30s and 40s.
I can’t get “A Wonderful Guy” out of my head.

8. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (PS2)
9. WipEout HD (all tracks and ships unlocked) (PS3)
You can cleary see I’m on the cutting edge of gaming.
1Ella Fitzgerald is one of my favorite singers, she’s on the Fallout 3 soundtrack. I preordered the game so I got a music cd with the music from the game. :o If you like Ella you’d also like Lena Horne.
My games that I beat this year:
Army of Two (xbox 360)
Fallout 3 (xbox 360)
Mercenaries 2 (xbox 360)
Battlefield: Bad Company (xbox 360)
Civilization Revolutions (xbox 360)
I also played, but did not finish, Grand Theft IV and Lost Odyssey. I spend most of my tiime playing BF Bad Company online, not much for single player gaming. Also have a new family member this year, lots of work and my side project karmerd.com :o
